headline - 200 survive major crash

w

ith an impact remarkable for its quietness, a Boeing 848 has successfully crashed into the Survival Lake Utilizing De-Gravitational Energy (SLUDGE).

Three passengers are confirmed dead and more than two dozen injured, but with over 200 surviving, aviation officials have hailed SLUDGE as an outstanding success. The plane, en route from Chicago to New York, managed to divert after serious engine failure to the nearby Washington facility.

Department of Air Safety officials scrambled in a race against time to retrieve the jet, which managed to make a textbook landing near the centre of SLUDGE. Then, powerful magnetic sensors guided the robosub to the jet in under 25 minutes, well under the statutory one hour time limit specified by the department.

Fire crew quickly doused the only fire, in the cockpit of the jet, and facilitated the quick exit of the surviving passengers, and the robosub was quickly reeled in to solid land.

A survivor, Ms Marie Greenwell of Detroit, said that she saw a port engine on fire about three or four minutes before the crash, and from then on sat terrified in her seat. She commended the captain who reassured the passengers by telling them that he believed he could make it to SLUDGE.

When the plane crashed, she said "I heard a deafening squirting sound that lasted for maybe 10 seconds, then [everything] went black. The jet started shaking uncontrollably and I thought it would break apart. But it held together and I think we stopped in about 20 seconds or so.

"I felt like I was going to black out, in fact I might of. Then I felt real faint, we stopped so fast. My face felt... burning from the gravity momentum. The SLUDGE saved us."

Secretary of Aviation James Hohrensen said he was grateful that the plane was able to make it to SLUDGE, and that the lake had produced such a favorable result. The Secretary refused to comment when asked whether the government would build further SLUDGEs, but it is expected that public pressure will be great. The EU is believed to be planning the world's second lake, at a site close to Berlin.

Shares rose dramatically in Avebury Chemical, who developed the original chemical technology, later further developed by NASA and other agencies. The SLUDGE utilizes eight layers of floating polymer based spheres of different densities that range from trillions of near frictionless particles near the surface to magnetic tennis ball sized spheres at a depth of 50 meters, all contained in a gel-like compound.

In tandem with specially designed aerodynamic and aquadynamic avionic features on the aircraft themselves, the SLUDGE has been designed for "soft" crash landings. During impact, a powerful magnetic field generates creating a frictionless repellant transition.

The facility was strategically located near Washington DC, firstly to be located close to major air transit locations and secondly to be available as a last resort survival hope for Air Force One in the event of an accident or attack. The lake will be immediately trawled an88reset442266to[[[[[[[[????\\\
